Arcanis

At seventeen, Arcanis built his first significant work with his own hands: a boat. The same year he won two medals at the Olympiades des Métiers, the competition of the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France. A childhood passion for metal became a craft.

In 2009 he obtained sixteen welding licences, up to the nuclear standard. Then a decade in the shipyards of Brittany: pleasure boats, trawlers, military ships. Millimetric welds became second nature.

In 2017 Arcanis returned to his art and dedicated himself to increasingly ambitious works in metal. Polygonal animals, cut, welded and polished piece by piece.

Drawing on the elegance of the great sailing ships, Arcanis brought The Boat to life. Leather began to blend with his metal: the suppleness of the organic material against the strength of steel. A new sensual, tactile dimension.

The fusion of leather and metal caught the eye of art enthusiasts and collectors from the very first exhibitions. The response confirmed the direction and opened a series of new works.

In 2022 Arcanis left everything behind to build a 200 m² workshop where every piece is designed, cut, welded, polished and finished, with no subcontractor. He then learned three disciplines from scratch: audiovisual production, 3D modelling and animation. Every piece is now designed in 3D before it is cut, welded and polished.

After mastering 3D, 2026 marks a milestone: the first limited edition art prints. Each print carries the detail of his sculptural vision onto a mirror surface, numbered and signed, in strictly limited quantities.
